Happy birthday, Keira!

Dearest Keira,

It’s your ninth birthday today (20 October) and I so wish I could’ve been there with you to celebrate. I don’t know how to express how much you mean to me and how it breaks my heart that you can’t be with your entire family, today and everyday. Facetiming with you and your ponies made me miss you even more! Nevertheless, I wish you all the happiness in the world… may you have a year full of joy, love, laughter, togetherness, contentment, a million happy moments, some teeny sad moments (just to appreciate the happy ones) 🙂 , and may all your dreams come true!

Every year, I see you becoming a far more empathetic person, wise beyond your years, and brimming with enthusiasm, full of questions that even make me pause and think. I am so proud of you and the person you are becoming. I wish you all the luck for this new year of your life.

While a lot is going to change in 2018 with the birth of your baby brother, I want you to know that we love you and are always there for you. I know we don’t talk much when you are in the US but I am sure we will change that as you grow older. I promise you, we are going to try and see you more often.

A few words of advice on this birthday – Never be afraid, be strong, be kind, be loving, always speak the truth and stand for the truth. I know you won’t be reading this until you’re a lot older but somewhere I know the universe is going to carry this message from my heart to yours. ❤

I’m sure you will have a fun celebration with your friends over the weekend. I will talk to you soon and hope to see you during your Easter break!

Lots of love, hugs and kisses,

Fi
